Tyler Fortier was named Eugene, Oregon's Next Big Thing in 2011 and has been invited to open for Frazey Ford, Matt Pond, Ivan & Alyosha, LeRoy Bell, David Dondero and many others. After touring extensively and releasing four albums between 2010 and 2011, Fortier began working behind the scenes as a music producer and making albums with some of the Northwest's finest singer/songwriters. In June 2014, Fortier returned to writing and performing with the release of his eighth full-length album, Black & White Heart. Whittled down from over thirty recordings, the ten tracks on Black & White Heart are heartfelt and sometimes fragile, reflecting on love, an emerging sense of self, and the meaning of home. Fortier's sound reflects his own musical upbringing, rooted in the sentimentality of classic songwriters like Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen, but is right at home among the current generation of great songwriters like Ray LaMontagne or Ryan Adams.
